McDonagh Junction

The new €250 million McDonagh Junction shopping centre in Kilkenny has been hailed a triumph. The mall has around 50 outlets, which form the centrepiece of a large campus-style development with leisure and residential facilities.

The designers have managed to cleverly incorporate into the scheme, existing heritage buildings, such as the old Kilkenny Workhouse. As well as helping to attract more visitors to the city, the new complex provided over 600 people with work during the construction and is likely generate a further 2000 permanent jobs in the future.

For this project the roles of TBS and their Irish Subsidiary ABP-TBS (Ireland) were to furnish the public washrooms. The majority of the cubicles were selected from the popular Spectra range. In addition, TBS were able to demonstrate their unprecedented high levels of craftsmanship and customer service when they had the opportunity to work closely with the clients to produce two attractive custom-built vanities. Each unit was expertly made from rich wood effect laminate and the combined end result was stylish and economical washrooms that are set to stand the test of time.
